Michael C. Cornell – Partner

Michael Cornell is a partner and co-founder of MCC Capital.

Michael's background brings to MCC a unique combination of experience as an entrepreneur, and in private equity and large corporate business environments.

At MCC Capital, Michael focuses on identifying attractive investment opportunities, developing operating leadership, guiding strategic direction and driving operating performance at portfolio companies.

Prior to MCC, Michael served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Jarden Branded Consumables ("JBC"), a business unit of Jarden Corporation (NYSE: JAH). JBC is a group of highly recognized consumer household brands. As CEO, Michael was responsible for five major business segments: Loew-Cornell, United States Playing Card Company, The Lehigh Group, First Alert/BRK, and Jarden Home Brands, which includes the Diamond, Ball, Pine Mountain and Java-log brands. In addition deepening his corporate management and leadership skills at Jarden, Michael had deep involvement in a series of acquisitions, both in the diligence and integration phases.

Michael joined JBC in the sale to Jarden of Loew-Cornell, where Michael served as President, and was part of the family ownership group. Mr. Cornell began his career at Loew-Cornell in 1994 as a Sales Manager, became Executive Vice President in 1998 and acting President in 2000, and was named President in 2004. Michael developed his entrepreneurial, leadership and business acumen at Loew-Cornell. His leadership, innovative marketing programs, channel expansion and re-structuring of the sourcing model helped build Loew-Cornell into a market leader in the arts and crafts supply industry, and created significant equity value for the ownership group which was realized in the sale to Jarden.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Syracuse University. He serves on the board of MCC Capital Partners, HiTouch Business Services, The Jack Martin Fund, and Syracuse University Whitman School of Management Advisory Council.

John M. Belniak – Partner

John's background brings MCC extensive financial, operational, and transactional experience across a range of investment banking, private equity, niche consumer business and large corporate businesses.

At MCC Capital, John focuses on identifying attractive investment opportunities, structuring transactions and financings, financial management and improving operating performance at portfolio companies.

While at MCC, John assumes an active operational role in each of the portfolio companies. John brings focus to the finance, legal, HR and operations side of the portfolio company through direct, hands-on interaction with management. In MCC's most recent portfolio company, SOG Specialty Knives and Tools, LLC, John served as the Vice Chairman and CFO.

Prior to MCC John was the Vice President of Corporate Development at Jarden Corporation, a multi-national, $6B NYSE diversified consumer goods company. While at Jarden, John's responsibilities included coordination and execution of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, capital raising and re-financings. During his tenure at Jarden, John coordinated numerous acquisitions and financings of both public and private companies ranging in valuations of over $1.0 billion to less than $1.0 million. The acquisitions spanned a variety of sectors, including sporting goods, small kitchen appliances and niche branded consumer products companies. He also sat on Jarden's investment committee and was responsible for managing Jarden's investment strategy for its $200MM pension and 401k obligations.

In his earlier career, John worked at M Capital, a mid-cap boutique private equity fund, where he was responsible for transaction generation, due diligence and contract negotiation. Prior to M Capital, John was an Analyst at BNY Capital, a boutique investment bank focused.

John graduated with Honors, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. He currently serves on the board of directors of Nemo Equipment, Inc.

Robert M. Farinholt – Partner

Robert Farinholt is a Partner of MCC Capital.

Robert's background brings MCC significant experience in investment banking, private equity and entrepreneurial endeavors.

At MCC Capital, Robert focuses on deal origination, structuring and negotiating platform and tuck-in transactions, as well as developing strategic plans for portfolio companies.

Prior to MCC, Robert co-founded Silver Steep Partners, a boutique investment bank advising outdoor and active lifestyle companies, growing the firm's market share to #1 in the segment, and ultimately selling the business to D.A. Davidson & Co.. Robert worked on 50+ transactions and closed 20 deals during the firm's existence, including sales of industry-leading companies such as Black Diamond, Helly Hansen and Eagle Creek while working as a trusted advisor for premier brands such as Cannondale, CamelBak and Simms Fishing.

Robert also founded Valency Capital, a private equity firm, to deploy personal and third-party capital in growth businesses and special situations. While at Valency, Robert focused on originating, analyzing, and funding compelling growth equity, recapitalization, and buyout investment opportunities, focusing on small founder-owned and managed businesses. The firm has successfully closed one transaction with another transaction under LOI, expected to close in Q2 2012.

In his earlier career, Robert also worked as an Investment Banking Associate at the Royal Bank of Canada and as an Analyst as JPMorgan.

In 2011, Robert was awarded the 40 Under 40 Award by Sporting Goods Business Magazine, selected from a pool of 450 nominees as a distinguished sporting goods industry professional under 40 years of age that exemplifyies exceptional leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Virginia.
